Welcome 2017!

Sunday, January 1, 2017
Wow, it's been almost one year since the last blog post. It truly is amazing how fast time flies. 2016 was filled with lots of great birding and nature experiences, unfortunately I didn't have the chance to share any of them on here. So we are starting things off right in 2017 with a new post and the plan to update our blog regularly with awesome posts.

What was your first bird of 2017? Mine was a Downy Woodpecker (same as 2016). It may have something to do with the suet feeder right outside my window which is the first thing I see in the morning. :)  After the Downy Woodpecker I saw a Black-capped Chickadee and lots of American Goldfinches. There were many other birds around in my backyard today in addition to those first three, in total 17 species recorded for Project FeederWatch. Here are some photos of my first birds of the year!
